A dream Christmas in Drogheda is on the cards for Katie McAuliffe from Limerick who has won €1000 to spend in the town.
Katie entered the ‘Win Your Dream Christmas’ competition supported by Drogheda BID on Facebook, winning a €1000 Love Drogheda Gift Card.
“I live in Limerick, about a 2.5 hour drive from Drogheda, but shop in Drogheda a few times each year when I meet up with friends,” said Katie. “Drogheda is a lovely town and the atmosphere is especially wonderful at Christmas.
“Looking at the list of where I can spend the Love Drogheda Gift Card, there are so many places to use it. The flexibility is lovely! I’m looking forward to visiting Drogheda before Christmas with my mother, meeting up with friends and treating them to lunch.
“Then, I’ll be buying amazing Christmas presents for my family in Drogheda, things that I probably wouldn’t have been able to splash out on ordinarily. There are endless possibilities. It’ll be so nice knowing that for one day, money is no object.
“Everyone wants to see local businesses thrive and I love the fact that the Love Drogheda Gift Card supports local businesses in Drogheda. If we rely on online shopping, then we could lose our small businesses and our towns would be poorer for it, and so would we.

The Love Drogheda Gift Card was introduced by Drogheda Business Improvement District (BID) in 2020 as a means to support local businesses, and can be spent with close to 200 businesses in the town, including food and drink places, shops, health and beauty, accommodation and services.

The Love Drogheda Gift Card is part of the award winning Town & City Gift Card concept active across Ireland, backed by fintech Miconex.
